Dan + YJ both have incredibly impressive careers. YJ is a senior international business development lead at Richard Branson's super high speed rail company, Hyperloop One. She was until May 2016, a diplomat for the State Department in Washington, implementing the Iranian nuclear agreement and working toward peace negotiations in Syria.
Dan was the director of speechwriting for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. He previously worked with Mrs. Clinton on her book “Hard Choices" and "What Happened." Needless to say, they are a pretty cool couple.
Though they are living in sunny California now, they wanted to come back to DC and celebrate with their family and friends. Well Dunn Catering helped us plan the menu and handle rentals. We brought up Paisley and Jade to create two comfortable lounge areas in the front of the gallery. Amanda Burnette created lush, yet simple, floral arrangements that we scattered on cocktail rounds and Leap Light and Sound covered the gallery with bistro lights to soften the space and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
With a room full of political gurus and speechwriters, the majority of the evening was filled with thoughtful prose about the couple and their journey together. There were rumors that Dan's old boss would make an appearance to wish the couple her best. Not only did she arrive in style, but also with her husband in tow.
